Are You Frustrated by A Lack of Progress?

Achieving your organisational objectives can be a battle when your team is not working to its’ capacity. When people seem busy but little gets done, and problems don’t surface until it’s almost too late, it can feel a like you’re chasing your tail.

Teamwork Time Traps Can Hold You Back

Even the best strategy is useless without synergy. Synergy is the key to ensuring strategy is executed effectively. Too much time putting out spot fires often comes at the expense of implementation and innovation.

I will Help You Build a Cohesive Committed Team

The best teams are both purposeful and productive. They work together, hold each other accountable and are always looking to get better. But this doesn’t happen by accident, excellence is always engineered and earned.

My Story: Learning From The Best

I spent the better part of a decade studying and working with some of the highest profile teams in Australia. Over that time, I developed a keen sense of what distinguishes the best from the rest.

I learned that great teams are built from the ground up to more or less manage and motivate themselves. This allows leaders to operate less like firefighters, and more like conductors, cueing a symphony orchestra

But Business Is Not The Same As Sport

Completing an MBA and going into business for myself taught me that there are important differences between sport and business. But there are also a few core similarities.

While there is no main event baked into business such as the Olympics, the key to success is the same. Without continuous improvement, innovation and evolution many teams remain mired mediocrity indefinitely, and the rest fail.

The work is different, yet what drives engagement, commitment and achievement is largely the same. The principles of people and performance are predictable, repeatable and universal.

My Style: Wing Man not Front Man

Unlike most consultants, I won’t claim to have all the answers. But you do. When it comes to engagement, environment is by far the biggest influence on people’s behaviour. This is why my approach is centred around context.

I will help you look at your organisation as a product, and correctly identify opportunities for innovation and evolution. Small tweaks to the right structures can dramatically change the environment and radically improve engagement.

Think of me as your wing man, I help you see the whole picture and make the necessary moves to hit your target. I am not an all-rounder from the big four, I am someone with a deep expertise within this context.

Here’s a quick little schematic of my process..

In the discovery phase its about learning. The synthesis phase is about deciding whats true, and the strategy phase is about deciding what to do about it. The execution phase then means mapping it out and breaking it down into clear crisp action steps. This is how we tackle a big fuzzy problem, and turn it into an opportunity.

Who This is For

If you’ve read this far, you should know I don’t take on a project unless I believe it can be successful. This means I tend not to take on too many projects because:

  1. Working very closely with fewer highly committed and well-suited clients improves the odds of both satisfaction and success.
  2. I believe that making a difference doing meaningful work alongside others we care about and respect is the key to great work.
If the list below describes you, things will work out just fine 🙂
  • You believe people are inherently good and motivated
  • You are a lifelong learner, and have little trouble questioning convention
  • You are a long-term thinker
  • You shift from operational to strategic perspectives easily
  • You are willing to try something before judging it
  • You value outcomes more so than opinions
  • You prefer the truth over more convenient narratives
  • You are doing at least 1 million p/a in revenue.
  • You’re not interested in band aid solutions

The Next Step

If you would like to discuss the possibility of working together, the next step is to choose one of the two options below.
